Weil der Wind gerade so schön stürmt, hier ein weiterer Tipp für Euch aus der Kategorie “Sommergenüsse in Stockholm”.
You want to spend lovely hours under apple trees, listen to the wind in the leaves and enjoy delicious Swedish carrot cake?
Then jump on the tram number 7 or bus 44 and leave it directly after the bridge to the island Djurgården (stop “Nordiska Museet/Vasa”). Then turn to the left, pass the blue gate and take a nice walk up to Rosendals trädgård.
Rosendals consists of a little palace, finished in 1827 and now a museum, a restaurant named “Rosendals Wärdshus“ and my most beloved cafe in Stockholm: “Rosendals Trädgårdscafe“.
All dishes consist of organically grown ingredients, many of them of the own garden.
Beside coffee and tea you may choose from a variety of sandwiches, pastries and light lunch dishes.
Bread, pies, buns, cookies and cakes come from the own bakery with its wood-fired stone oven.
And don’t forget to try the homemade icecream!
On the huge meadow you find tables, but may also sit on your own blanket and feel as on vacation far out on the countryside.
During the year you may visit different exhibitions on subjects like environment, horticulture, organic cooking or garden art.
And even on Christmas time Rosendals is worth to take a walk through the dark forest guided by some candles that light the way to the little shop with beautiful Christmas gifts.
